ECS Basics
Your endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a body-wide signaling network that helps keep you in balance, a state called homeostasis. It plays everyday roles in things like relaxation, sleep, appetite, and certain inflammation responses. When life pushes you away from your “normal,” the ECS is one of the systems that helps nudge you back toward center.
Players in the ECS
Endocannabinoids
These are your body’s own messenger molecules. They are made on demand and used quickly.
Receptors: CB1 and CB2
Tiny “locks” on cell surfaces. CB1 shows up more in the brain and central nervous system. CB2 is common in immune and peripheral tissues, including skin.
Enzymes
Your body’s start and stop buttons. They create endocannabinoids when needed and break them down when the job is done.
The ECS is a built-in balancing act that runs quietly in the background all day.
Where CBD fits in
Formats and the ECS
Sublingual drops
Hold under the tongue for about 60 seconds. CBD is absorbed through oral tissues and enters circulation, which can support the ECS throughout the body. Many people choose drops for steady daytime calm and an easier wind-down at night.
Topicals
Your skin has an active ECS. Applying CBD to a specific spot lets it engage local receptors in the skin and nearby tissue.
Liposomal CBD Cream
Fast rub-in, unscented, face-friendly. Liposomal delivery is designed to carry CBD deeper for focused application on small or medium areas.
CBD Salve
A thicker balm that stays where you put it. Good for on-the-spot work and a protective, conditioning feel.
CBD Massage Oil
Long glide from jojoba and MCT. Good for full-area or full-body hands-on work.
CBD Lip Balm
The lip area is rich in sensory nerves and has an active ECS. Applying CBD here provides localized, on-the-spot care.
Liposomal delivery (why our cream is different)
Liposomes are tiny, skin-friendly carriers made from phospholipids, similar to the materials in cell membranes. They are designed to help move CBD through the skin’s watertight outer layer and into deeper, more aqueous layers. The goal is more efficient delivery and higher local concentrations where you want them. Liposomes are non-toxic and non-immunogenic, which makes them well suited for topical use.

Reading a COA (Certificate of Analysis)
Every batch has a third-party COA so you can check:
Potency
How much of each cannabinoid is present. Example: drops listed as 100 mg per mL, or cream listed as 30 mg per gram.
Purity
Screens for things like residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbes. You should see “Pass.” ND (non-detectable) means the amount is below the lab’s limit of detection.
Build your routine
- Start low, go slow. For drops, a common starting point is 0.25 mL. Use it consistently for a few days, then adjust amount and timing.
- Be consistent. Using at the same times each day often works best.
- Topicals. Apply to clean, dry skin. Patch test first. Avoid broken skin and eyes. Wash hands after use.
- Pair formats. Many people use Drops in the morning and evening for overall steadiness, plus a Topical on any areas that need focused attention.
Glossary
ECS
Endocannabinoid system, a balance-support network involved in relaxation, sleep, appetite, and certain inflammation responses.
CB1 / CB2
Receptor families. CB1 appears more in the brain and central nervous system. CB2 is common in immune and peripheral tissues, including skin.
Endocannabinoids
Your body’s own cannabinoids, such as anandamide and 2-AG.
Liposome
A tiny phospholipid vesicle designed to carry ingredients like CBD across the skin barrier and into deeper layers.
ND
Non-detectable. Below a lab’s limit of quantitation on the COA.
LOQ
Limit of quantitation. The lowest level a lab can reliably measure.
